How can I blank out an original Xbox Hard Drive so it can be used in any Xbox I choose? The reason I am asking is because I have 2 Xbox Hard Drives that are 10GB, and I can not get xboxhdm to cooperate with them. I am wanting to make backup drives for both my Xbox and a friend's Xbox. I constantly get errors from xboxhdm when I try to work with these drives. Both drives are seagate drives by the way. They both are original Xbox drives as well. I am trying to use a back up disk for my Xbox that I made using xboxhdm, but it is not working. Can anyone give me any ideas or point me into the right direction? Thanks in advance.

PS: Please be detailed with your explanations. I appreciate it!

You can't blank out an Xbox hard drive for use in any Xbox. Reason being, Xbox hard drives are locked with EEPROMs that are stored on the motherboard. Unless you know how to change one or both of them, an Xbox is literally tied to a single Xbox.

I can only assume the reason you can't get xboxhdm to work is because you don't have the EEPROM for the Xbox's on the xboxhdm disc.

Use this guide.

If you still can't get it to work, then you're probably better off just installing a mod chip and keeping the hard drive back-ups on DVD-Rs.

Thanks goes out to theridges for the userbars :)
