Has anyone ever used the Breaker Pro to play backup PSX games on your
PS2?
My PS2 refuses to play my Mortal Kombat Trilogy AND FF7. I cleaned my
discs, used an anti scratch solution and still nothing. Says the discs are not there when there in the console... I looked online and found out the PS2 laser is iffy when reading PS1 games. I can run them JUST FINE on my PS1, but its a huge hassle to switch consoles every time I want to play 2 games! I called Sony and they told me that I have to re-buy my games because CD's aren't supposed to last more then 4-5 years. This is ticking me off. Up until a few days ago these games played fine on my PS2 and now they just stopped... I went and rented a few games and most PS1 games refused to boot, so I went to a gamestop and managed to buy a brand new Creatures game... It was the only new PSX games they had so I had to settle for it.
I brought it home and it loaded fine. Now I refuse to re-buy MKT and
FF7 and I am not unplugging my PS2 every time I need to play a PS1
game! So I did some research and found out about a software called
Breaker Pro. This allows you to play PSX backups on your PS2. Today I
did a backup of my MKT CD and ran it through an emulator... Worked like a charm. So I backed everything up correctly and am ready to try it on my PS2... IF this Breaker Pro is safe.
Now here is my question. Breaker Pro uses swapping... Doesn't that
damage your PS2? I know a few boot cds are safe (I don't have any experience with this so I don't know for sure, but I was told that Swap Magic doesn't damage your PS2), not causing damage to your PS2, but is Breaker Pro one of them? Because if Breaker Pro does damage your PS2 I guess I can just buy a splitter of some kind and have both consoles hooked up... Stupid $ony.
Thanks for the help!
