I just bought a new computer. am I missing a program? I have DVD Shrink and dvdfab decrypter(eventhough I'm not sure how to use) but I'm getting an error around the 52% mark that states data error cyclic redundancy check. what does this mean. thanks guys

Hi cosme017
CRC errors mean a. shrink can't handle the copy protection or b. the disc is dirty/scratched or a bad press.
So let's try cleaning off the disc w/ something non abrasive & the DVDFab decrypter route and see how that goes for you.

Here's a guide using dvdfab decrypter/vobblanker/shrink - step by step.

Give that a go and let us know.

What burning engines did you used by a chance (i.e. Nero, ImgBurn or DVD Decrypter)? And what's the error or problem? What media are you using? Mostly when it happened via the burning process is the media itself, meaning your burner doesn't like the media. Have you updated or is your DVD burner's firmware up to date?

Below are few things I recommend:
** use high quality media (Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim or Maxell "Made In Japan by Hitachi Corp."
** burn anywhere from 4X - 8X
** don't multi tasks (when transcoding or burning)
** defrag hard drive twice a week
** clean/empty all cookies and temp files
** release more memory RAM in prior to burning

Good luck and keep us posted.
