First off - hello to everyone!

Recently I just bought a Samsung HDTV DLP 1080p etc..

My question has to do w/ 16:9 and progessive scan.

I set my TV to 16:9 and my PS2..

I know the new game Okami does not support 16:9 - however when I put in the game, the picture fills the whole screen.

Is 16:9 supposed to be widescreen of fill the screen? And if it is to fill the screen why does it do that when Okami does not support it.

Also I put in Shadow of the Col. in and set it to progessive scan and 16:9 - it took up the whole screen etc..

I guess my question is what is 16:9 - what is it supposed to look like and if Okami does not support it - then is it because my TV is set to 16:9 it goes full screen?

I am trying to get the best PS2 game quality right now.. I am using Monster cables as well.

16 by 9 (16:9) is the widescreen version. Widescreen allows you to watch movies in their original aspect ratio instead of cutting off parts of the sides and enlarging the rest as standard (4:3) TV's do. Since the game is filling up the screen on your 16:9 TV it shows that it is supportive of that because if it wasn't then you would have black bars on the left and right of the screen.
