hi there was a thread about this but it was locked so i couldnt use it.
please help.
im from australia and im with Telstra network.
my |ME| is 35705400/574091/1
my 2600 nokia type is rh-59
any other info i need to give.
and if you may walk me through it since im really amature.

Australian Phones are the most difficult ones I have come across.
There seems to be a general difficulty with Australia.
Each phone is allowed only a few tries before it is hard locked.
3 to 5 tries. It still works but you will need a cable and a thing-a-me-giggy to unlock it.
It will STILL WORK on the original Network.
I would like to see if I can figure out the right code.
I can only think of 4 or 5 ways.
The problem is that people who have requested codes have not always replied after getting the codes.
Remember that each phone uses a unique code.
These Codes are based on the Network codes and a security code. That combination of codes is what we need to calculate the code.
It is important that I know if the phone returns an error message when a code is entered.
I can give you a code that I would expect to work. It may not work however. If you would like to try a free solution you can try the Code I give you or you can take it to your local Phone repair professional and have it done.
If you havee tried any codes, I need to know what code and how many times you have tried. If you try the same code twice, that is two tries.

thanks i havent used the code yet.
to be honest i dont know where to enter the code, and if i need my sim in there and what sim do i need.

Your code:Try this once and once only.Remember,
you only get 3 to 5 tries. If you enter the same code two
times, that is two tries.
To enter code:
Make sure battery is charged.
Power on.
Ignore ?Insert SIM?
Press the # key.
then press the "star" key (*) quickly to get the P and W and +
Press * 3 times quickly for (p) \
Press * 4 times quickly for (w) IMPORTANT
Press * 2 times quickly for (+) /
and the rest of the code---
Begin with # and end with #.
IMPORTANT!!
Verify code before pressing the last #.
Pay attention. You only have about two seconds.
"Phone restrictions off", it's unlocked.
"Error code" wrong code. STOP tell me.
"Not allowed" or "Can Not Undo Restriction" it's hard locked.
Used up all your free tries!!
If it does not work, tell me: What happened? What message
you got. What codes you tried.
Above all, answer.

I would like you to try both codes.
NO damage can happen to your mobile if the codes do not work.
If you do not try the codes then your only way of unlocking your mobile is with hardware.
The choice is yours but it would really help us out if you gave the codes a shot.

neither of the codes work. error code was the message i got for both.
the cost of unlocking it is well over what the phone is worth, it costs about 30-50 dollars.
so if there are any other codes. id try it.

I do not want to be responsible for hardlocking your mobile you have 2 attempts left. I do not think any codes are going to work.
It's so annoying that the Aussie phones are so difficult to unlock.
Try another sim in the phone it might be unlocked already.

that one didnt work either, and as i said mate, this is my last resort before i go and buy another phone, so even if a code totally screws up the mobile i wouldnt care one bit.
so dont feel bad one bit if you lock my phone all together.
