What are you running a Chip? swap discs? I dont know but tese guys with swap discs are really starting to annoy me now especially since u can get a pro mod install for arround $40 give or take a few.

I am one of the ones with the swap disk.(i guess i am out dated). Okay what would be the best mod chip to install for the ps2 slim and the regular ps2.

All depends what you want to do with it? will you be and advanced user running homebrew apps? or just want to boot backups. For the first (Advanced) id go with a DMS4, Matrix Infinity, or a Crystal Chip. For a less advanced user a Modbo 745 would be a good option because it has the Matrix Infinity v.1.82 code, and will install on your V14 ps2. Just check for local installers, you can also check PS2-scene.org forums theirs lots of pro installers that have pictures of installs to prove their good work.

you can still play scarface with swap magic lad!
1) download zone loader here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VLVSWJB6
2) burn it to dvd like any other game (the 700KB rar extracts to 1.5GB ISO)
3)load scarface in this order
swap magic > zone loader > scarface
enjoy :)

yea man just use the zoneloader sm is just abouth the same as the mod just less of a hastle installing it

@t-180 swap is only $18 . and u have better chance fring your ps2 with a chip install. theres nothing wrong with swap magic.why do you think they make it :)

Exactly. Being an "advanced" user mean little IMO unless you installed the chip yourself. Then that's something to brag about. Homebrew, well my Xbox runs it better than my PS2 ever could. Chips and swap magic, both have positives and negatives.

I still can't play my backup copy of scarface for ps2. I've downloaded the zone loader and used it with the swap magic disc. When i put the game in it goes to the scarface screen where it shows all the copy right crap and stops there. I've tried burning the game on 4, 6 and 8 speed. Can anyone please help.

Then it's most likely your media. What brand DVD are you using? And, are they -R or +R?

I'm using DVD-R 8x in the Imation brand.I've been using this brand for a year on all my ps2 games and movies and they all work great.

Switch brand. Imation aren't very good & you'll most likely find that the very 1st backups you burnt will of (or soon will) stopped working now. You'll also be saving your laser by using a better quality brand.
I've backed up over 2000 games to RITEK G05 8x DVD-R burning at 4x, and they always work 1st time, every time, even games I burnt 4/5 years ago.

yes u can, the general rule of thumb is to burn at half the maximum burn speed so you want to burn at 8x, also 16x arent as good as 8x, 16x tend to produce more errors, if your looking to buy more disks buy some verbs/taiyoyuden DVD-R (unless your burner can booktype then buy +r)at the speed of 8x or check out some of the media threads in the stickies to see what to buy and what not to buy. burn using dvd decryptor - gives best results.

I went to this website to down load zone load. It gives me a password to get in. It wont let me get any farther. Everytime i try to get in it tells me that is is an invalid password. Does anyone have any other website to go to that is user friendly

I'm still having problems burning scarface. I've changed my brand of disc as suggested, but still no luck. Once it gets to the scarface screen showing the copyright stuff it stops.

Did you actually register on their forums properly? And did you confirm your account 1st - check email to see if a confirmation email with a link was sent to you. You need to click on that 1st to confirm registration before logging in on most sites.

What brand did you change to?
And are you still using ZoneLoader (and using it properly)?

I don't have Swap Magic, but I tried loading it through Gameshark2v2 and it doesn't even get pass the Gameshark screen...then I tried loading it with Zoneloader and I get a black screen. Scarface works on my bro's PS2 with a modchip though, I guess modchips are better than boot discs :(.

This has been one of the worst games ever that i burnt i burnt about 20 odd discs of back up and they all work like an orignal.
but i dnt know wat the hell is wrong wiv this game, They are thousands of threads on this topic and know one wants to bloody help me and hav some probelm.
I have Verbatim DVD-R's Advanced AZO, one of the best media.
dwnloaded Zoneloader, burnt it and i wasted 5 discs. wat on earth im i doing wrong

Even with zoneloader (downloaded and used properly) I am still getting 'not a valid ps2 disc screen'. I heard it can work with the zoneloader memory card exploit. Does anyone know where i can find this?

Okay, after an insane amount of wasted discs, i finally figured it out. You need to seperate the zoneloader file. First, run WinRAR. go to file and open archive. Select the rar and click o.k. Left click on zoneloader.iso click extract and save to desktop. You can then burn just the iso file and that should work good luck.
