This week Office Depot has their brand of DVD+R DL Media 25-PK on sale for $39.99. I've tried Memorex and Fuji brand DLs and had more bad than good burns. Right now I'm using Verbs but I only have a few left. Are Office Depot's DL worth $40 for 25-PK? Any advise on other DL Discs? Thanks....

I would say no. Verbatims are competitively-priced, and very often cheaper than, OD and other brands at any given point in time. You just have to shop around. SMS has 20 Verbs for $35.80 shipped. The price difference between those and the Office Depot sale you mentioned only comes out to 10 cents a disc factoring in 6% sales tax, and even less if I were to factor in gas costs.

-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
