If yes, how?
I have my 360 in a corner because games are just so damn expensive, and I want to download games from the internet, burn them and then play, if possible also on Xbox Live.
Is this possible?

Yes but you will either need to fit it with a modchip or flash the firmware.

mtrk: if you're telling us you're actively pirating games (misnomer, yes, but that's the common terminology), we can't help you as that's not supported on AD. however, if you tell us you're making backups of games you legally own, we're ready to believe you,as such activity makes perfect sense with the cost of games these days. please read the the rules and come up with ways to act in accordance with them, or a mod will take you down. just a friendly bit of advice, amigo.

hmmm i think that MTRK isnt the only one who posts on this site that has thought about, done or have copies of downloaded games already to burn on his pc,the forum discussions obviously show its true.everyone knows the risks here and if people are sying they dont download pirated software then its a full on lie.most people dont flash an xbox 360 to go out and still buy retail games..the xbox1 is a prime example..dont kid yourself.

it's not about the truth, it's about what you can say to cover your ass and get away with stuff while appearing to be pursuing strictly legal objectives.

If people freely spoke of piracy and it was allowed, the site would be shut down. It's as simple as that. Now that's not what I want. So I'll say plenty on hacking, I'm not going to say "I wanna get free games without ever paying for them." That's just dumb or igornant at best.

it has been minorly a few times. for the most part, the dweebs that try it lack the experience to get through the elaborate security set up by dRD and the other admins.

Of course I own the games, I would never download games from the internet, because they are not really that expensive.
So, how can I backup my own games, since my friends have a lot of them because I am a good person, and play them on my Xbox 360? :)

depending on the drive you have in your 360, you get a modded firmware. then you burn on dual-layer blanks and play away.

The xbox 1 originals need to be ripped the same way as the 360 games.

okay, but it seems that i rip 360 games differently than most. i use the hotswap method and wxripper. as far as SS.bin files are concerned, i have my way of getting those, i just can't seem to rip xbox 1 games. can someone send me instructions?

i cannot do that since i do not have SATA ports on my motherboard.. i know, sad huh? anyway, i don't understand why it's possible to do it for xbox 360 and not the original xbox. why would it be harder for older technology?
