I'm looking at buying Taiyo Yuden White Inkjet Hub Printable 8X DVD+R. Is there a difference in quality or durability between these and the shiny Silver's.

I use a sharpie(the one made for cd media) to lable my backups.

No difference in quality or durability, i use the white becuz IMO they look better then the silver

Don't ignore the Ty shiny inkjet printables. They'll give a very distinguished look to your covers,especially your lighter covers. Mine are Ty-g02. Had to get them because of the huge price difference between the plus and dash format.

For me,darker covers look best with the white full hubs.Ligher covers aren't so fortunant.

Full hub shiny would look even better if they were available. I download my covers,and decide whether to put them on white full hubs/shiny reg hubs/ lightscribe/or use a sharpie on my basic backups.

I use Verbatim +8x and japanese Maxell +8x white,full hubs and they are excellent high quality media as well.Those are easily obtained locally at office depot/walmart/etc-same price for either format. Beware of the taiwanese Maxell white full hubs.

Simpsonb- Saugmon is right ! if you get the Maxell printables Get the ones that say" Made In Japan" on the wrapper /shrink wrap ! these are Made By Maxell/Hitachi & are excellent disc The other ones are Made in taiwan By Cmc - Aka -the CraP MedIa Company ! I accidently bought a pack of 25 last xmas & Use them only for experimental purposes or as Beer Coasters ! The Taiyo Yudens & verbatims printables either Shiny or white are excellent media ! it's hard to go wrong with those 2 companies ! it basically boils down to cost ,availability & the look your after as the other members have said !
