has anyone backed up games using this drive. if so, how do you burn the rip. I will be using the xbox backup creator. But the only tutorial i can find is one that uses the nme-360 mod chip (http://www.team-underdog.com/howto.html). i do not have that modchip. it says that the rip needs to me patched for the mod chip.
if i dont have that chip do i just burn it with clone cd or do i have to set the layer breaks with another program? any help or a step by step would be cool. xbox backup creator has lots of options and im not sure how to do it. the discs are to expensive to waste!
@ jerecho... I never seen a guide for xbc. It does look pretty straight forward. This is taken right out of the "read-me" which came with the download:
Quote:Application Use:
It should be pretty straight forward. Read your disk then write it to a blank DVD+R DL.
Since this application is not multi-threaded, please do not disturb it while writing.
After inserting a disk it may take a few seconds for it to be recognized. If it does
not populate and enable the buttons after more than 30 seconds press
CTRL-R to force a refresh.
Remember, you must use one of the supported drives for READING Xbox disks. The drive
will ALSO need the modified firmware. :) A lot of people were confused about this.
You cannot just pop the Xbox disk into your burner to make a backup.
This app doesn't support making a backup of a backup. Find another way, its easy.
If your burner doesn't automatically set the book type to DVD-ROM for DVD+R DL then
you must set the booktype before writing using the appropriate bitsetting app for
your burner. Some of the newer Xbox drive firmwares get past this requirement.
Samsung - Use Xtreme v3.1 or later
Hitachi - Use the MediaCheck patch by Geremia
And Clone CD is easier to burn 360 games with than Nero.
Once the first backup is made, you can use any program you want to make your second. It's just a 1:1 copy. But legally, you can only own 1 backup of the original at a time.
