OK so i used to burn dvds using DVD Shrink and my old external burner. I now have a laptop with new software. I am having trouble burning. I have ripped with DVD Shrink, AnyDVD and dvdshrink together, dvd decrpyter, none work. well to be more exact the ripping works but the burning does not. Every time it seems to be burning fine then towards the end it comes up with a message:

"one of your files did not compare to their originals. It is recommended you try to create your disk again. Please remember to shut down all applications while disk creation is in progress."

I am using Sonic Record Now version 7. I have also tried mysonic (version 3?)

can someone please tell me what i am doing wrong, I miss being able to back up my dvds.

have you followed this guide:
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/guides.htm

if it's a newer DVD Shrink alone might not work...... use AnyDVD in the background with Shrink. follow the guide!

No don't get me wrong, I did look at the guide and I appreciate the efforts of whoever wrote it, but I believe it is my burning software not my ripping software because I followed the guide and am still having problems.

hey.... while you're at it....... here is a great free program that does everything for you! it's called RipIt4Me, download the programs and follow the guide:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/360110,

now you're equipped to do all the DVDs that are out there!

I forgot to answer you question about internal or external burners...... I have both! and I enjoy them both!
