I've seen a handful of threads about swap magic guys not being able to play the game; but I'm actually having trouble even burning it. I've just switched my media from Verbatim to Philips. I'm using a Philips DVD+R. I'm reading and writing using DVD Decrypter. I've backed up and played plenty of PS2 games before using this method. However, when I try to write the Scarface, I get to about 16%-20% (I've tried a couple times) and the process will completly stop. I let it go to see if it'll start again and it doesn't. When I try to close down the program it won't close and won't let me open anything else. Also, even though the red burning light isn't on, it still won' eject the disk at this time. Then, if I use Alt-Ctr-Del, it can close it, but my computer won't shut down. Is all of this due to the fact that I switched to phillips? The guys a citcuit city said this was the best brand they had, was that a mistake or should I be looking else where. Oh, and I just burned a regular DVD no problem with these phillips. One more thing, the write speed was at max, but I watched it and it stayed right around 2.2x. Sorry about being long winded, just would rather have your guy's opinion before I got out and buy more media. Thank you.

Switched my media over to verbatim DVD-R, still doing it. I'm going to try and burn a different game to make sure it's not my burner. Anyone have any ideas?

I successfully coped Scarface off my lil brothers copy using Alcahol 120 %... and as far as the blank media is concerned ..well ive been burning games for about a year and a half now.And my best success rate is achieved using Memorex 4x dvd+r's burned at either a 1.0 or 2.4 speed.Although most people recomend using authentic Taiyo Yudens or Verbatims.

Well I ended up using a different burner and it worked great. So I guess my dvd burner crapped the bed, but somehow it still burns CD's.
