I have a v9 in which I have installed a Matrix Infinity (green dot) and performed the Romeo fix, but I'm experiencing a strange problem with the drive:

The console will play anything I throw at it, so the chip is installed correctly and everything is fine...untill the drive locks up. I've examined the drive over and over again and nothing seems to be wrong - loads games very fast and makes no noises out of the ordinary. When the drive locks up I can touch the magnet on top of the drive and off it goes again. I can manually force the drive to lock up by stopping the spindle and letting go - when I give the spindle the lightest of pushes, it springs right back into action again and loads whatever is in the drive.

My problem seems may seem rediculous, but as this is not my console (belongs to a friend of mine), I'd really prefer to find a way to fix it before handing it back.

I've been wondering if the Romeo fix might have taken too much power away from the drive, making it incapable of launching the spin due to the magnetic resistance...?

Thoughts anyone?

Best regards
Husballe...

P.s.: I'm new to this forum - be gentle... ;o)
