hi,
all ps2 fans out there just 2weeks before i bought a premodded ps2
scph 75004(of course slim , might be u call it v14)
but my excitement is all ruined after reading some messages saying that there are fake matrix infinity chips available during bootup my ps2 shows infinity v1.82 at the bottom of playstation2 logo
This is the real part i.e iam sad cuz i dont know whether i have a real or fake ,if u think of suggesting of opening it forget it i will get thrashes frm my parents as we just bought a new one and also i saw the pics of real and fake infinity modchips (real=actel ic)(fake= on which matrix infinity is printed)
when i enter the configure screen by pressing triangle+circle
i get all options ex:to select color, to turn DVD9 on or off etc as a real chip with matrix logo on top
when i change any of the settings and press start to save them it gets stucks... plz help me by answering about how to save settings
do i require a memory card inserted to save settings cuz i dont have one at present plllllzzzzzzzzzzzz help u r frnd i.e me:)

You will need a memory card to save your settings.
Also, since you are able to access the config menu and re-enter it after changing settings, you have a real Matrix Infinity. The fake ones crash when you do try to access settings. The fakes also tend to have a much lower firmware version i.e v1.42.
If you really want to test if its real or not (because I say it is), go to the Matrix Infinity site (www.infinitymod.com), download the latest firmware version (v1.88), burn the image to a CD, load that in your PS2, update the chip, and it should display 1.88 under the PS2 logo next time you load a game, also stating that it is real.
