Guys I have 2 questions:
1 ? I was told by someone I had to go into XBC 'options and set the Block and Sector Retry Limit to 5'. Why and is that right?
2 ? I was told by someone else on XBC I HAVE to go to the drive tools tab and click the unlock drive button? What does that do and do I need to do it?
I ask this because both people didn?t mention these 2 different steps in each other?s methods. Just wondered if I have to do them both?

Just to warn people who are backing up their games with DVD Decrypter: dont use cheap discs because when you get to the burn stage an error is likely to come up saying
"Interpretation: Power Calibration Area Error",
this happens on 0% when its says at the bottom of the window:
'setting L0 data zone capacity'.
Also cheap discs write to 53-54% and fail. The main cause of this is again the quality of the discs. When the DVD drive is burning onto the second layer of the disc (which is 53-54%) it fails as the disc quality is poor. Well not poor quality, the incorrect discs for backing up Xbox 360 games.
Here's some i recommend 9i used these and they work with my backups):
(1.) Verbatim 8.5Gb 2.4x Double Layer DVD+R
(2.) Aone 8.5Gb 8x Double Layer DVD+R
DONT WASTE TIME WITH CHEAP DISCS.

error opening dvd-rom {e} exclusive access this pop up as i try to burn image with xbc v2.4

reason :access is denied
this is what i get to burn with image burn
does anybody know what did i do wrong here .thanx

I keep getting a error that says error after single sector reading this is normal on Xbox 1 disc,on Xbox 360 disc this should not happen.
do you want to continue and fill unreadable sectors with zeros?
The game is a Xbox 360 madden 07. Any help with this would be great thanks
p/s I've tried to use Xbox back creator and get a error also.

Hi everyone,
I just bought an Xtreme 360 from eBay, and a Samsung SH0D162C to backup my games. I had my first go at this last night, downloaded Xbox Backup Creator 2.3, and Schtrom 3.1, as I heard those were the best programmes to do it.
I tried XBC first, followed the tutorial, and pressed start to begin the rip. I then got a message ' Unable to determine the current visible partition', and subsequent message saying 'read failed'.
I then tried Schtrom, and got a message saying 'No valid Xbox disc in drive', 'unable to backup'.
I was trying to backup Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End.
Can anyone suggest what is going wrong, or give me some advice how to fix it? It would be mega karma for anyone who can!!!

Newb question....
I DLd a copy of GH2 that wasn't Stealth and I couldn't find one that was. my question is....since the Schtrom proggy is supposed to automatically stealth patch upon extract, will it also patch if I had mounted the ISO I DLd in deamon tools and extracetd from there?.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have to mount the iso once you unrar it to stealth patch it. Just leave it in iso form on your hdd and direct which ever program you use to where it's located.
Also, I'd suggest using XDVDMulleter instead of Schtrom for patching.

I am new and I just finished patching my xbox360 and I have Hitachi 47d. So now my biggest problem is how do I copy my current games, cause every time I read a a guide it says something else. So all I would like to know is what kind of burner, not a dvd drive, do I need to copy, what firmware do I need, and how to patch instructions. I also have a generic burner on my laptop and I would like to know if I could use that to copy my games ( I want to get them from the cd , not a torrent/file), and to save you time, I already tried to book type it in dvd mode and now I am confused if I need a different burner or what someone please help. Here is a list of what I have /what I have done to save time.
Flashed xbox360 drive w/ixtreme firmware
Generic dvd burner
Dual layer DVDs
Tried to book type burner on DVD encryptor
Tried dvdmuller
Tried wxripper
and I am stuck because I have latest firmware for my burner and Hitachi 47d. I know this topic is repeated but I would appreciate it if someone can take the time to help me out.

Hi there,
Sorry if I am asking dumb questions but I'm not an expert on this. My console was chipped and now I want to copy the originals and play the copied game.
I have a Samsung TS-H552U DVD RW. Is there any way to write it with Xbox backup creator? I have managed to extract the game (only 1 of 3) to an .ISO but my "Complete" option is not available. I have to select the one under "complete" Does this mean that If I write it it will not work?
So If I can't use XBC what about the hot swap way.
I have wxripper and merger something but how does it work? Do I have to put a dvd DL in that is full of data? Can I extract the SS and so on from the Disk with wxripper or the merge util?
What is the ss and other stuff for? How do i actually create this?

Just downloaded and installed Schtrom360Xtract V3.3. Popped a Xbox 360disc (Halo 3) into my Samsung SH-D165C DVD Rom flashed with Kreon V0.81 Clicked on Whole Disc (Stealth Xtreme 3.0 splitVid) pressed Extract and 15 minuets later I was burning a backed up copy of Halo 3 on to a dual layer disc with
PFI Present!
DMI Present!
SS Present!
So stealth Check Passed placed it into my Xbox 360 CD try
Had to install an update from the disc and one working copy of Halo 3
It could not be easier
I have the software here just ask for it
¢À How to upgrade firmware ¢À
1. Download the attached "Bin file (firmware)" and "Sfdnwin.exe file (download
Program)" into a temporary folder.
2. When you run "Sfdnwin.exe", Pop-up window will appear. You can see your ROM-
Drive in the Pop-up window.
Then choose the drive whose firmware you want to upgrade.
Drive: TSSTcorpDVD-ROM SH-D162CTS04
3. You will see three icons on the top from left.
If you click the first icon from left, you can see ?Investigation window? then open
The firmware file that you already downloaded to the temporary folder.
4. You will see the message" Ready" after finding the firmware file that you want.
Then click the middle icon on the top of left. Then your firmware will be upgraded
Automatically.
5. When you finish upgrading firmware, reboot your pc.
¡ØSfdnwin.exe: A program which can make your drive download our firmware(s) in Windows.
(It's for only Windows)

hi all ,
i am new to this and have been reading posts. i have downloaded a copy of Bioshock ofr 360 and i had to use a par2 utitiity to fix the files. afterward i then extracted the files with winrar and had a 6.06gig disc i then looked to see if it was patched. i noticed their is no information that say that it is or is not patched. i tried to use the ss merger program 1.7 and when it does the check for the "md5". The program starts to work then it says it cannot connect to a server or something and cannot find the md5 number. i also did not have the ss bin file with the game. i then thought that maybe i did not need it since it was not anywhere in the files. i decided to burn with clonecd latst version. i read some where that clonecd knows what to do and i do not have to make anychange to it. so i then burned a copy with clone cd at 1x and the xbox 360 raeds it as "mixed media" .... how do i fix my problem and what did i do wrong :(
