I have a v7 with fake Matrix Infinity. Firmware v1.82... (we dont get original chips where i live...actually you can't buy a ps2 here that isnt premodded...excepy at the Sony showroom which charges the equivalent of $350!!!)

The chip config menu works fine and i can even change the settings and the chip doesnt get fried....
The save config problem in the fakes seem to be fixed in the ones that come with newer firmware...

All the features of the chip work perfectly as mentioned on the Matrix website (Excepy firmware upgrade of course)

I boot into launchElf through dev1, then i put in a burned disc with some files, the open the CDFS: in uLE.
It shows all the files on the disc. I can copy them to HDD etc...

But if i eject this disc and put in another one, then the 2nd disc doesnt read.

Even in SMS player, only the first disc that i put in reads. If i eject it and put in a new disc it says Illegal Disc.

But after ejecting the first disc, if i put in an original disc then it shows all the files on the original disc.

Obviously, the mod chip is only effective for the first disc inserted. Then its disabled till i reset the PS2.

The Matrix site mentioned that the chip has a SLEEP MODE. The chip automatically switches off after booting (in this case - after making the drive read a non orignal disc, because im booting in DEV1 mode and not from CD, the chip is still active and waiting for a backup disc to be inseretd.)

I presume this is what is happeneing....

How do i make it read burned discs ? I now have to reset it every time i want to change the disc in the drive. Like when i have 5 mp3 discs and i have to reset it after each one or it wont read the next one.

I previously had a cheap modchip which did nothing but boot anything you stick into the drive as a ps2 game...including DVD movies....

I was using the independence exploit to boot ULE...since all the chip did was force the drive to read discs...i could easily change discs in ULE or MP3 player and it would read the new disc directly...no reset needed.
