Xtreme firmware 4.0A and 4.0B for TS-H943 Xbox 360
World first FirmGuard, Dual Speed, Media Stealth, One Firmware, Xbox 360 backup and extraction firmware modification!
What's new/fixed (since v3.3)
* MS28 core firmware. Also better and faster media detection.
* FirmGuard added. On by default. Firmware cannot be Read/Written by 360 console. Can ONLY be turned off (Read/Write enabled) via Enable0800 mode.
* 4.0A firmware. 4.0A is default Fast Read Speed mode. Quite/Slow Read mode for backups activated via any Xbox 360/Xbox 1 Original game disk.
* 4.0B firmware. 4.0B is default Quiet/Slow Read Speed mode. Fast Read mode for backups activated via any Xbox 360/Xbox 1 Original game disk.
Some details about new features:
* For Xtreme 4.0A default backup Read Speed is same as original game disks 12x. When Original Game disk is booted, all subsequent backup loading will be at Quiet/Slow Read mode, Original Game disks are unaffected. Turn console off/on to reset back to Default backup read speed (12x). Quiet/Slow Read Speed is for quiet operation and/or cheap DVD+R DL media.
* For Xtreme 4.0B default backup Read Speed is Quiet/Slow 2-4x. When Original Game disk is booted, all subsequent backup loading will be at Fast Read mode 12x, Original Game disks are unaffected. Turn console off/on to reset back to Default backup read speed for backups (2-4x).
* FirmGuard disables reading/writing of drive firmware. This is always on. Can only be turned off via Enable0800 mode. Do not have SATA cable plugged into Xbox 360 console when in Enable0800 mode.

That's what I'm wondering about. People go nuts about v4, but nobody can really tell what the REAL benefits are over 3.3
so if someone can tell us, fill us in :)

In a nutshell, m$ can't read (or rewrite) your modded firmware (if they ever figure out how to detect it) over xbl or from a game update. Firmware unreadable= firmware undectable.
In default setting:
4a- backups read fast (faster loading times, use quality media)
4b- backups read slow (for crappy media)

it also supports stealth media backups for samsung.
it has a whole heap of feutures.I don't completely get all of it myself. But from what i do understand i'd reccomend everyone to get 4.0a
to bhetrick: Yes ms won't be able to read the firmware or change it.but that could a problem right there. If ms do try something, and the update cannot read firmware, then it won't update, and will say failed, and it won't let you on live,so i find it pointless. It would be better to make a firmware that looks like the original firmware, but isnt.So when ms check they think it's original firmware, but there's actually xtreme firmware on it.

One or the other. Choose which default speed you want and use that firmware. 4a and 4b are separate firmwares.

Here are a few questions reguarding the new firmware I think alot of people are having, so i will ask it here and you guys can answer them and clear everything up for everyone.
my drive is already flashed with the older firmware, not 4.0a/b (probably 3.3). If i decided to upgrade to 4.0, do I need to bring the firmware back to the original factory firmware then flash 4.0 or can i just flash 4.0 ontop of my current.
Do i need to copy the firmware key from my original firmware and paste it onto 4.0a/b firmware (copy everything from 4000-4200 of backup.bin and paste onto 4000-4200 of 4.0a/b)
Please answer these questions, and if possible can someone give a more throught and clear tutortial on how to flash this 4.0a/b firmware.
Thanks alot

it might be detectable/overwriteable by ms but no one really knows for sure. if i was you i would just upgrade to 4.0a or b just to be safe. what i wanna know is that in the end of the nfo/readme, it says do not have sata cable plugged in while in 0800 mode, what does this exactly mean?? i just don't wanna mess nothing up, can anyone help??
