Hey everyone,

I was trying to install magic key II, and everything seemed to be working fine.

I tried to run swap magic, but it detected when i opened it, so I knew tool C wasn't fit in properly.

I kept tinkering with it, but nothing was working. The little rib in the back was pressing on it, making it go out of place. To fix this, I tried pressing down fairly hard on it so it would stick. I was presing down somewhat on that bit of plastic that is separated from the body of the disc, the one that houses the laser.

The next time I turned on the ps2, the disc didnt spin at all, and the PS2 made a REALLY loud grating noise, coming from the laser. I removed all of the magic key components, and it still occurred.

When I turn on the PS2 it doesn't even detect the disc (it's not even a disc read error, it just doesnt even spin it or detect it). It makes the grating noise for about one and a half seconds, pauses, then does it again for another one and a half seconds, and then it brings me to the browser screen. I enter the browser, and it only shows my memory stick, no DVD.

I'm using a V14 Slimline, brand new (purchased on Oct. 5). What's wrong?!!??!

I wouldn't keep switching on the PS2 if I were you, you'll probably make the problem worse.
Sounds like you might of broken something off when you were pressing hard on the keys, and it's lodged into the laser drive.
Give the PS2 a gentle shake, see if that dislodges it.
If not, you can always take the PS2 back to the shop & say it just stopped working. Its only been 10 days & most stores have a 30 day return policy, particularly for electrical goods.
