im trying to do the firmware hack for my friend he has a toshiba samsung ts-h943 with the problem im having is when i connect the sata cable i have the sata card from new egg so when i connect the sata cable to the ts-h943 drive i type in the mtkflash r backup.bin but it says no drive detected.

Is your mtk edited for that card? And you're gonna want to type " mtkflash r /m orig.bin " to get the original firmware.

The mtkflash must be hex edited to work with the pci card. Check out the second sticky at the top of the forum.
