many thanks to pazzini for giving me the unlock code....

But the phone still shows the vodafone logo, and more importantly it tries to connect to vodafone wap and can't....how do I get rid of the vodafone settings and get the o2 ones of my new sim card in place?

As for the vodafone logo you could download a blank wallpaper/screensaver.

Or you could take the phone to a shop and have it flashed with O2 software.

got the wap set up now, and will take phone to o2 shop to have it sorted with o2 software...how much do they charge (roughly?)

Mate as you have the WAP all sorted there will be no need to flash the mobile(unless you want to)
