Trying to burn x-men 3 and i have DVD Decrypter, any dvd, clonedvd2 and DVD Shrink 3.2 installed. followed instructions from tl mitch above but had no luck. Probably just don't know what i'm doing. can someone give me instruction on how to do this exactly. your help would be appreciated! i seemed to have downloaded it to my hard drive w/dvd decrypter but when i go into CloneDVD, where do i go? Or do i use AnyDVD and how?

Well, AnyDVD runs in the background while you are decrypting. If you have the original DVD Decrypter then you should make sure that you have it set up right. The next thing that you need to do is make an output folder for decrypter such as D:\XMenIII\VIDEO_TS. The VIDEO_TS folder is where the movie should end up. Since you have CloneDVD then point to the VIDEO_TS folder and it will open.

Most of the time you do not need DVD Decrypter if you have AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. Those guys will handle just about everything as long as you have the latest updates. Personally I live AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, VobBlanker, DVD Shrink, and Nero to burn. By using this combo I never have a problem.

Setting up DVD Decrypter:

Go to tools -> Settings (make the following tabs look like mine)

General

CSS

IO

That should get you burning. Remember to make sure that the little fox is in the task bar before you run it. If you double click the little fox you can set the options. If you right click the little fox AnyDVD is a great ripper.

Hope that gives you a little help.

It will work. As long as you have everything set up the way I have it you will get a perfect decrypt!

Okay...I ended up using AnyDVD and now am in the middle of encoding with dvdshrink. Somewhat confusing all of this for me. I wasn't sure what to click onto in clonedvd2. I have to copy to my hard drive and don't know how to do it thru clonedvd2. So therefore I am using dvdshrink. The little fox is red so I assume it's decrypted I guess. When I go into dvdshrink, I click onto "open disc" right? What it is doing when it analyzes and then encodes? I've done this many times before but when I look for the file when trying to burn to a blank dvd from the hard drive file through whatever program, I can't find the file where I put it sometimes. Why is that? Help!!

It's done and I put it on my C drive. I see all kinds of files in there now. Which one is it? When I try to open it, I can't. It asks what application or software to open it with. When I try to open with DVD Decrypter, it gives me a response that says invalid or unsupported image file format. Help?

BTW...I couldn't put it on my D drive. It said I didn't have enough space. Giving up for now. I will wait to hear from someone. I can only find the file through my computer but not thru a program to burn the dvd.

Ok...
If you look at the first picture above that I laid out for you. You select the browse for folder button and a small window will open that shows in the first picture. At the bottom it has a button that says, "Make New Folder", select that and create a folder on your hard drive that is the name of the movie. After you press enter highlight the folder you just created and select the Make New Folder button again. This folder you name, "VIDEO_TS" (without the quotes!). Then select that folder and press OK.

Now when the file decrypts it will be on your hard drive under the folder that you named. When you open Shrink select this folder. AnyDVD is not working anymore because it only works on the movie in the drive. Set your maximum output in Shrink to 4360 or 4400. You do this because you do not want to burn to the edge of the DVD. Then backup with Shrink.

This is where you might run in to problems. If you do not have or did not use VobBlanker to blank out material, depending on the DVD it may be too large to shrink to a DVD-5 or if it will your quality will be low.

I do not want to go into detail, but if you have CloneDVD2 use it. In the first screen in gives you the option to remove items from the DVD. Also if you notice in the top right corner you have the option to retain menu's. If your DVD has both full screen and wide screen options available you may have to choose just one of them.

As a side note: When you open CloneDVD2 select the top button. The next screen will give you the option to choose the location of the movie. To make things simple take the DVD out of the drive. You are not burning from the DVD but from your hard drive. Now when you select the main file that your holds your movie go one step further and select the VIDEO_TS folder.

After you have selected what you wish to keep press next and take out any languages you do not desire. This will give you even better quality with your compression. When you get to the last screen press the button that says, "To DVD" or something like that, name the file if you desire and hit process.

I hope that helps!
