i have downloaded movies on my pc but i cant burn them to my DVD-R help please!!!

I'm sure those movies are in the .avi format, if so then:

I would use a free app called Avi2DVD for converting the files into a DVD compliant format that DVDshrink or DVD Decrypter will recognize.
