I actually just loaded the DVD Fab file as a full disc and it worked perfectly. Is that ok?

It sure is. Glad to hear it was a success!
You can use re-author mode when you want to do just movie only. Will save on the compression used on the dvd.
You can also remove the foreign audios in full backup or re-author mode to help on the compression too.

Hi pholmes31
Sounds like a bad disc since DVDFab can handle this one- try cleaning it off. If you have another drive try that one too - some are better at ripping the bad spots then others.
You also might want to give RipIt4me a shot - uses decrypter which imho is one the best rippers for bad discs.

Its weird,DVD Shrink goes through the first backing up part completely, but when you get to the longer part(sorry i don't know the correct terminology),it goes to about 2 % and then gives me the eror message.

I gotcha - shrink does the analysis ok then during the encoding part bombs.
Ok so you were able to rip now w/ DVDFab then open those files and Shrink gives you a new error? Shrink by itself can't handle this one.

DVDFab completed the whole movie, but i do still get the message with shrink. It may be my disc, since Fab has always worked for me before.

Could still be a problem w/ DVDFab. I haven't checked the latest version out yet or looked for the feedback on it yet so can't say if some users still have problems w/ the v3's.
Try RipIt4Me - will do these one.

hi all I was wondering, when I backed up my copy of the break up it has the closed caption running along the bottom and I dont want it doing this. I have never had this happen before with any other backups before. I use any dvd and dvd clone 2 for all backups. I have searched other forums here for anything like this and found nothing. is it a simple solution or did i fudge something up major. also can i use my current video ts file on my pc or do i need to do the whole process over. thanks in advance for any replys. mike

Hi barcia99
Try using the video_ts on your hard drive. Open it in CloneDVD. When you get to the 'audio & subtitle settings' screen uncheck all audios except for English Dolby AC-3/6.
Give that a go and let us know.

No that shouldn't cause it.
Can you change the audio on menu w/ remote to remove the closed caption or try removing by the subtitles option?
I didn't have any problems just leaving the the above audio.
Try also playing the file from your hard drive does it happen there too - if so can you remove it by the menu or subtitle option?

No biggie there barcia99 and no bother either!
For some reason some players on some movies just default to this subtitle option. Usually switching the audio or subtitles off takes care of it.
Have a good night too :)

No problem pholmes31 :)]
Though I do hate to see your throw in the towel on this one.
You can try running the files from DVDFab thru VobBlanker then open those files in Shrink.
Or not free but has a 21 day free trial is AnyDVD & CloneDVD (AnyDVD can also just be run in the background w/ Shrink too)).
