Hi recently i have been having problems backuping up any PS2 games. Many of them dont load, the PS2 logo shows and i get a black screen and nothing more, long load times, or my favorite skipping and stuttering cinematics =(
i know plenty about backuping ps2 games, so first i made sure i had quality dvds. I ALWAYS burn at 4x with TYG02 dvd-rs all the time i have over 400 games with these dvds and i buy them at the same store all the time and i have never had any problems until recently.
I usually use DVD decryptor to burn my games i made sure to have it set to wnaspi32.dll. i also tried redownloading it.
I've also tried uninstalling and installing DVD Decryptor again. Also tried other various programs like Alcohol 120% and ImgBurn, and still no luck.
I've also made sure in device manager that its set to DMA Ultra for both primary and secondary devices.
Heres the wierd part though, i also tried putting a new DVD burner into my computer and i got the same results? What does this mean? Should i reformat my computer?
I've wasted too many DVDs, although SOME games come out fine but many dont anymore. My dvd burner doesnt support any firmware updates. If anyone has any other solutions i am will to try, i just trying to save reformating as a last resort, seeing as that might not even help as well =S.
Heres the name of my burner if it helps

Switch brand of DVD. Personally, I don't rate TY at all.
I've burnt over 2000 games to RITEK G05 8x DVD-R over the last 4-5 years & every one of them still plays without a problem. Some of them even used to be on other media (like TY) but had to be reburnt as they stopped working on their original media.
are old games that you backed up before this problem started still work on the ps2? if not then it could be the ps2's laser that has a problem instead of the pc. Also, you could try aspichk to make sure all the aspi files are ok.
