will a USA Game and DNAS ID work online on a PAL ps2?

I think you may have to use a converter to switch it from NTSC to PAL. I know there is a free program called PAL to NTSC, but i'm not sure if it works backwards to give you NTSC to PAL

i'm pretty sure it would effect it. but at the top of this forum they have PAL & NTSC DNAS. Is it a certain game you are trying to patch that they don't have a PAL DNAS id for?

thank wester i read through that thread, my ps2 is v14 slim so i cant use the id changer :(

is there a way to change PAL2NTSC for the v14?

For video display yes, but NOT for online play. You're stuck with playing PAL games online.

as far as I know all european PAL games should work online on any PAL ps2 (they all use that central station thing I believe) not sure about the pal/aus 'cause with NTSC we can't play ntsc/jap games online in north america.
