all you need to do is take the ISO file that you have and burn it to a DVD-R, open up DVD Decrypter and go to mode, select ISO, write, insert your blank media be sure to put the burn speed at 4x, it is not the only option but it is the speed that works best, typically.
load your swap magic into your ps2 and swap as directed if it is not reading a ps2 disc after you have inserted your swap magic disc then buy a newer version of swap magic, if you know your swap magic is good then chances are your ISO file is bad

JOKA back to your origonal question, when does it say not a ps2 disc, because it shouldnt say that if you are using swap magic, that is the whole point of swap magic it loads the ps2 boot code because when you copy a game that code isnot transferd, you might be messing up on the load sequence, why dont you list your process for us and maybe we can be of more help, is the game an ISO or something else, you might be triing to put a cd game on a dvd. if you have a -RW drive then a -R disc should work no problem, are you sure it is not a +RW
the more info you can give the more help that will be given back

Why are you all so sad to new people He might not know thats why he came onto the forum in the first place.
Im 70% sure that your burner can only burn DVD+R discs not Minus Firmware sometimes gives you better compatibility but ussally The types of discs the burner can burn stay until you throw it away,Once you download it and if it dosent work then you might want to buy a new burner they are only...well... for a Samsung write master dual layer and +/- only $55au I paid and it works great for the ps2 games

ok PROBLEMS. i load up swap magic 3.6. it gets to the screen where it says: LOAD PROGRAM, VIDEO MODE:NORMAL. itake out the drive with the slide tool, insert the DVD+RW, push the drive back in and lock it with the slide tool and then press X for a normal boot, and then it says 'not a valid PS2 disc'.

that is a new one to me, usually only says that when you dont use swap magic, must be something to do with the +RW, if you can try a +R insted of +RW, ive had a few +Rs work for me but usually kind of choppy and slow load time. still your best bet is to get a -R, you can find external dvd+/-RW drive that will cover all media and dual layer for around $100us.
hopefully there is someone else that has a better answere for you

DO NOT USE RW discs if your burner wont burn -R Then you need a new one or you wont be playing backups unless you use +R and its a V9 or later ps2

You should always use the .mds or .cue file to burn(it's usually the smaller file that comes with the image file). if you don't it will not burn the image exactly as original.

No, that guy doesnt know what hes talking about. Using the MDS or Cur or ISO or BIN, makes no difference, its the same thing. You probably burned to fast, burn at a slower speed next time and dont use RW's ise -'rs. +r's tend to suck.

yes +R will work sometimes but -R works almost always and if you are using DVD Decrypter then you should burn at 4x 95% of the time and you will see a vast improvment

True Some burning programs don't need the cue or mds but some do.It is a file that tells your burning soft what mode, tracks, index were used! If Your ISO,BIN,MDF has a cue,mds file with it use it.

I Have a backup up of every ps2 game out there minus a couple of the really gay ones.I always use verbatim +R w/DVD Decrypter to rip and IMGBURN(same maker of DVD Decrypter,But still being updated) to burn.
I use the half max speed of your disc rule to burn.
The only time I ever had a bad burn was with alc120 and when my Lg drive would start to go bad.LG is great for copying games I just wish they would last longer.3 Lg drives so far=210$ cost of backups produced with it=A whole lot more!
