Hello ... not sure if this is the right place to ask.
A friend of mine gave me a (vhs) copy of a movie taped off tv, which I wanted to convert to dvd. About half way into the tape, the sound is waayyyyy low, barely audible. When dubbing the tape to dvd, I tried pumping the volume up, to see if this would make a difference ... unfortunately, it didn't. The sound on the dvd was barely audible as well. I really want this movie, it's quite rare.

Question .... does anyone know of an authoring device that will allow me to adjust audio volume?

TMPGEnc DVD Author has filters in it to adjust volume, it will also rip your existing DVD and allow you to do that to your files on the disc. The only problem would be it will adjust the volume of the whole disc, you may still end up with a low spot. You could try the volume normalizing setting, that may level the audio track uniformally. TMPGEnc has a 14 day free trial give it a whirl, and good luck.

Thanks for your suggestion. I've heard that TMPGEnc was a good program, tho I've not had a chance to check it out.
I actually just found a way to do it with VideoRedo. It's an EXCELLENT editing program which also has an optiion to adjust volume and adjust audio sync ....
