I've googled and searched for three days and my first attempt at the MC Exploit turned out unsucessful. Many questions to ask.
So i created a title.db file, created an ".bin" and ".cue" file. The guides didn't specify what i should be burning here. Assuming i need both of them (being the noob i am), i burned both the .bin and .cue file onto a cd-r disk. My friend had his ps2 chipped and when i placed the cd in the ps2, it made a few clicks inside, and a duration of about 10 seconds, the ps2 says something like, cd read error (something like that). When i explore the cd, its contains Filename.bin and Filename.cue
Questions:
is it possible his chip can't play cd-r disks, only dvds??
What programs alongside the MC exploit do i need to play backup ps2 games?
I have more questions, just can't remember them now.
Thanks community of AfterDawn.

For those who have achieved the MC Exploit,
Might you be available on AIM? I'd like to do
a 1on1 chat, and correct my mistakes, if any.

Quote: When i explore the cd, its contains Filename.bin and Filename.cue
So u made a data cd, then chucked the bin and cue file into it?
You dont make a data cd. When you open up (Nero for example) Then you go to open image. Then look for the bin file and open that. If you created the bin file properly. After you burn it, it should work...

Actually maybe its the cue file. Try burning both : If one works and the other dont, then you know which one :)
I only have iso's, and never dealt with bin/cue files.

This time i used the compiler, and ended up with a .cue, .bin, .toc file. So i used alcohol, set a few settings and clicked on the .cue file, it automatically took the .bin file and .cue file and created a disk out of that... When i opened the disk, it looked correct. This disk was a cd-r by the way. When i put the disk in my friend's chipped ps2, it once again gave me a "disk read error" I copied the cd contents onto a DVD-R and had same results.

When I created mine,
I just used independance compiler 4.1. Read how to use it in the program itself. Then it created a cue and bin file.
I opened the cue using Nero 7. With disc at once mode type. Burnt it.
Chucked it into my ps2 after loading swap magic.
And it copied all the elf files I chose onto the memory card.
If yours dont work after doing these steps it could be the modchip...
Mak sure you mates ps2 isnt a slimline to...

i used the new version compiler- ps2 exploit 5.0.. maybe thats why.. well basically i followed the instructions, burned the .cue file (it automatically includeded bin) with Alcohol 120 and the cd is made.
question: i looked at real ps2 cds, and noticed a 'FILE' called - (SLUS_XXX.XX) do i need that file in my cd?
I guess i should try the 4.1 compiler, and i'll get back to everyone tomorrow..
No, its not a slimline.
