Hey!
I just wanted if my motherboard has a SATA connector.
I opened the systemsinfo box, and looked at the components/storage/scsi and this information came up:
Name: SCSI/RAID-hostcontroller
Producer: (Standard mass storage controllers)
Status: OK
PNP unit id: ACPI\PNPA000\4&XXXAE208&0 (three XXX digits are deleted for safety)
I/O port: 0x0000FFE0-0x0000FFEF
IRQ channel: X (number deleted for safety)
And there is a driver.
Can anybody tell me, if this SATA chipset can be used to flash the Samsung drive?
Thanks in advance!

Open the case and look. If you have SATA ports they will be small as hell compared to an IDE port. And if you're planning on flashing a samsung drive, you need to get a edited mkflash.exe file.

Okay, thanks for the information Pittfan.
I need an edited version of mtkflash right? - If yes, where could I find it? My system is the Dell 8400, if you need any more information just ask.
And just one last question, this SATA chipset is compatible to flash the Samsung drive?

You don't even need that since your SATA ports are supported.

But where does the Xbox360 drive then get it's power from?
So I just connect the SATA cable from my chipset to my Xbox360 Samsung drive and start off, or what?
And, does anyone know a good video, or picture tutorial on flashing the Samsung drive with a SATA chipset, like mine?

you need to hook up the SATA from the Xbox 360 drive to the sata port on PC , Just hook that up and turn on your 360 then start your computer " 360 uses its own power "

Yeah , But make sure you push the power connector from the connectivity kit that goes in the Xbox 360 DVD drive all the way in or you can fry the drive. I learned the hard way !!!! P.S. Slax CD is Easier

Is it just to put in the Slax CD, then the drive is in Mode B?
Or what?
Can I download the Slax CD file from another place? I have to wait another 25 minutes to download it, it's pretty annoing..

Hook up your Xbox 360 to your SATA PC connection first, Then turn on the 360 [Make sure your PC has CD Rom as First Boot Device] , Insert the Slax CD in your Computer , The Slax CD will do a run and you'll see the 360 light "The one In the circle on the front of the console " start to blink, that means the 360 is in ModeB,Then reboot your computer, take out the Slax CD and boot into Windows, then you can apply the firmware. P.S. Remember the Slax CD is Bootable.
