i have to get a sata card to flash my xbox i have the haitchi drive does it matter what card i have and what is the best firmware to use

use a card with a SIl3112 chipset. Best buy has one. It's called the Adaptech ASH-1205. And use OPA Xtreme 8in1 2.2 Stealth

i just called the computer store that i ordered it from it is the SIl3112 but didn't ask about raid so can't i disable that in bios

Well I know for a fact that SLAX will get a Hitachi in ModeB with a SIL3112 chipset. And alot of people don't like ordering online. Get the card at best buy, flash and take the thing back the next day.

would love to but no best buy what is the slax cd and do i put it in my xbox or pc cause i thought that you had to get to modeb manualy by unplug the machine while the tray is out

You have to get the Hitachi Drive in modeB before Windows can assign it a drive letter. That's why I told you to get that particular card. Actually any PCI SATA card with the SIL3112 chipset will work. To get it in modeB, you hook up the Hitachi to the PC and boot off the SLAX CD. (You boot it with your PC) It'll tell you it's in modeB, then you reboot your computer and Windows will assign the drive a letter. Then u flash.

First, hook up your 360 drive to the SATA card. Turn on the 360. Make sure you have the AV cable plugged in. Turn on your PC with the slax cd. It should autoboot it. After it's done and you'll see MODEB enabled, hit the reset button on the PC. When you get into windows and you can see a drive letter next to your 360 drive, go to start, run and type in cmd.exe
run the flashing program and you're all done.

Screw the 2 wire trick. MANY people have bricked their drive doing that. Just get a SIL3112 SATA card and return it the day after you flash. No worries, no bricked drive, no money spent..

thank one question though i got maximus-garyopa xtrm hitachi stealth v.2.2 there is a lot of files in there do i burn this like a iso or what i understand that the different versions but what is the rest

what are you talking about you still need the sata card even if you do the 2 wire trick you just dont have to do all the slax crap and anybody that has bricked there 360 doing it is a complete idiot it is not hard at all expecially if you attach the resistors then you are just retarded if you could possibly manage to brick it
Unchris you need to look for the tuts there are a lot out there and on this site and make sure you are doing the new FW Maximus-Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v2.3 Stealth 8in1
