Help, i have had many tutorials telling me to type certain things into this screen but when i open it up it says
C:\DOCUME_1\DALEP_1>
then i tpe in and press enter and it just goes down a line and says the same thing, nothing i type works,
and when i click the X to close it the END TASK screen appears. im stuck.
Please help me fix this!!!!

what windows are you using, and can you give more details like what are you typing in, and what is the error message

Well i got windows xp, and whatever i type it just goes down a line and nothing happens.

If your DOS command box doesn't look like this:
C:\Documents and Settings (in other words, the full line of the folders, no _ or ~'s), then go to Start, Search and look for a file called cmd.com. If you find it, delete it.
Most likely it will show up in the Windows, or System 32 folder.

I have searched for cmd.com and i only found 1 file, its a INC file named FPDBRGN1, and my dos screen looks like this, i done a print screen of it.

Dont use command.com, use cmd.exe (or type cmd in RUN box)
If the cmd.exe doesnt work then ive heard that a virus can disable it but from the look of your screenshot your antivirus itself has taken over your command prompt.

Try uninstalling Avast, run CCleaner for your registry (or RegSeeker) to clean up an misc Avast entries...restart the system, and try again.

I jus DL regseeker and installed it but when i try open the program i get the following message with a big red X:
Cannot find import;DLL may be mising, corrupt, or wrong version
File"soref.dll", function "PostMainUI" (error5)
Wut do i do now, HElP

Well, there's no "installation" with RegSeeker....just extract the zip to a folder and run.
If there's a prob with RegSeeker, try downloading it again. Sometimes a corrupted d/l will cause issues.
CCleaner is pretty good too if you're still having any issues with RegSeeker.
However, you never did post back if you tried using cmd at the Run prompt.

One other thing to try, open a command prompt by typing cmd then enter in the Run box.
Once you are at the black screen type notepad then enter. I know you can't see the typing, but try it anyway.
If Notepad starts, then you may have the problem I seen someone else have before, you somehow set your text color to the same color as the background in the command prompt window. If that is the case, click the icon of the command prompt in the top left hand window. You should get a drop down, select properties then go to the colors tab.

Go to your RUN command, and type in cmd.exe and your command prompt should open normally.
If it does, recheck the Windows\System32 folder again for the file called:
cmd.com
If you have to, do a search thru the whole system for that file. Delete all instances you find.
Also....run any anti-ad/spyware programs you have with the latest updates. Such as AdAware, Spybot Search and Destroy, Windows Defender, Ewido...Spyware Doctor, etc.
