Hi
Is the ethernet cable, cross over cable and the FTP cable the same thing or r they 3 completley different things??

i don't know about the FTP cable but i know that crossover cable and the ethernet are two different thing i had to buy a crossover to FTP to my xbox

Their are 2 types of ethernet cable a straight cable and a cross cable.
The xbox 1 used a cross over cable to FTP into it
the xbox 360 premium pack comes with a straight ethernet cable
if you are looking to connect your x360 directly from a cable modem to the x360 then you would use a straight cable.
If you are looking to connect your x360 from a router to the xbox 360 you would also use a straight cable.
