As i have stated i am new to the forum and i appreciate all the help everyone has given me on different issues just not this motorola page but all. Although not all of my post have been responded to! :)
Anyway... i know there are several people having problems with drivers and connecting to there pc through usb so i would offer my 2 cents on how i did it. I dont think i am breaking any forum rules i did read the regs first and i am not doing anything other than pointing out what a lot may already know.... There is a website www.mobilesandpdas.com/downloads this screen will have you select your phone i have nextel iden so this was my selection and then it links you to the actual Iden website. Here you can download the drivers for windows os not 98 supported though and also some other small programs. None of this is hacker material i am not into that but it is legitmate and virus free. Hope this helps someone..

Hi help me if you can..

Okay a little about this problem, I recieved a Black V3 razr phone... from cingular. I had a pentium 1/2 computer and I recieved a disk with a cable. The disk did NOT work so I got Motorola phone tools online, I had windows 2000 and I downloaded p2k tools before I got motorola phone tools. Everything was fine, then I got another phone yesterday and an E-MACHINES computer with windows XP. I tried downloading the program again... from my old drive that I put into this computer. I have four usb ports, I tried all 4, I put the cable in and it makes the sound as if it connects, then 10 seconds later makes the sound as if it disconnects. I tried opening a p2k tools program and it said disconnected, I re-plugged it and it worked. I tried opening a mobile tools program and no matter what I do it will NOT connect, anyone know what's going on?

I would go to device manager and click on the usb + sign to drop down all ports. If there is a port that has an x or ! on it right click it and uninstall the driver then reboot the computer. Windows will auto. install the driver right back and this would fix that problem. However a common mistake i have seen people make is when you install the driver for xp then connect the phone it still comes up and says driver installation. Go through with it. Let windows search the computer to find the material you just installed and once it finds it then it will auto install the phone. Hope this helps..
