i have heard about getting the drive into mode b by unpluging the power but it just dawned on me and i have a question is it the main power from the xbox or just the little one in the drive please help if anyone knows

i don't think so, to get it into mode b either use connectivity kit, two wire method, or slaxcd, they all work pretty good.

there are methods involving the little dvd power connector, but you don't just unplug it,
