I've been trying to get my router, a LINKSYS BEFSR41 V4.1, to work with my 360 and my PC. It works with the PC no problem until I turn on the 360. I don't get a connection with the 360 but it kills my PC connection so I'm not able to browse. If I plug the modem cable directly into the 360 it works. I've called LINKSYS but they are no help. They tell me to call MS which I did, they gave me some ports to unblock, which I did but nothing. MS says its something with LINKSYS and I believe them. Anyone have any ideas? If I have to deal with another person at LINKSYS I'm going to go crazy. :(

maybe your pc and your xbox are trying to use the same ip, set them both to automatic (dhcp) then see what happens.
YOU win some, YOU lose some, either way I WIN

Make sure your router is set to gateway in the router setup. For that linksys, go to http://192.168.1.1 and check that. Then when you updated it, unplug your modem and router. Plug back in the modem first, then the router.

That might be it... where is this option? I didn't see anything with Gateway in the menus but I might not be looking at the right thing or something

Okay, so I updated the firmware on the router and went back and redid the steps from before since the firmware reset everything. I enabled MAC ADDRESS CLONE & pressed the CLONE YOUR PC MAC and then I went to application & games / port triggering and entered the 5 things Microsoft gave me and put each port number in the start/end port of triggered and forwarded (ie. UDP Trig Start 53/Trig End 53 Forw Star 53/Forw End 53. PC is working fine. I booted up the XBOX and no connection and then my PC connection was lost. I ran test connection on the XBOX and it gets to DNS and fails but everything is set to automatic. It seems like its using the same IP but I don't know why.

The IP Address is one off between the PC and the XBOX, one is 192.168.1.100 and the other is 192.168.1.101, the subnet mask, gateway address, and the primary/secondary DNS are the same for both. Now if you go to advance settings... nothing is set in ALTERNATE MAC ADDRESS OR PPPoE SETTINGS

I had a problem similar to yours with my actiontec router.I couldnt connect with the 360.How i ended up getting it working was I just disabled the routers firewall.I dont know if the linksys router allows that but the actiontec did.I also wouldnt recommend leaving it disabled after you verify it works start blocking/(Or unblocking) things one by one to see what was causing the problem.

I don't see anything with a firewall... I just unplugged my ethernet cable from the router and turned the xbox on and bam, it connected through the router but as soon as I plugged the pc cable back in, connection lost on the xbox and the pc had no connection. Anyway... time for work. :-/

Try this..Keep in mind, if you have Bellsouth DSL you have to set the router to PPPOE. Most DSL uses PPPOE as well...
Plus, I didn't have to open any ports for Xbox Live, only Utorrent.

It's not PPPoE as I'm not DSL.
I don't have the screen that says router/gateway but below is a picture of the closest thing I have thats to your screen.
