Hi all, i realise you guys have enough questions to answer but i couldnt find any reference to this problem anywhere else, so here goes.

When i boot up my PC with the mtkflash bootable floppy, i type in the 'mtkflash r /m orig.bin' command line with no problems, then it comes to the Slave/Master selection. I understand i have to select the master option but it dos'nt seem to give me an option?
It says:- "Port: 1F0, Master/Slave a0"

All i get is the white blinking line and i wont let me select either Master or slave. It wont recognise any key i press on the keyboard, i tried all of them.

The floppy drive i use is an external USB drive, i hope it dos'nt have to be connected to the motherboard as it dos'nt have a slot for one. ??

Has anybody seen/had this problem? And can they help??

A little more info is needed.

1. Your 360's drive model.
2. Your SATA chipset.
3. Is your mtkflash hex edited?
4. Are all of your drives disconnected?

Mtkflash questions are hard to answer bacause every computer is different. The more info you give the better!!!

My 360 drive is a Samsung TS-H943 FW=ms28.

MTKFlash is a standard downloadable one not sure if hex edited.

Drives were all disconnected apart from xbox.

Im not sure about my SATA chipset but my motherboard has a
"VIA VT6307" chip on it is that it?

Ive been told by a few hackers that ALL VIA chipsets work so maybe this one will. Here is the spec:-

P.S. I have purchased a VIA VT-6421L PCI SATA card as i know this definately works. Should arrive in around 2 weeks.

I've only done a ms25 so I don't know how to do a ms28. Are you turning on power after your computer boots up?

Yea, when i get to the command prompt A:>. Then i turn on xbox, type the command line> enter> then i get the 'port....sl/ma...' line with the blinking white line.

The menu's to select the master/slave arn't there.

Im pretty sure now after hours of head scratching that my chipset is'nt compatable. Although its VIA i cant get it to work. Ive spent hours going through every forum/tutorial i could find, and i think im doing everything correctly.

So i think i'll wait for my 6421L as im told this is a winner everytime. Fingers crossed

No i didnt mate.

I wasnt sure if this was a compatable chip-set or not so i left it alone. You would advise this??

Just checked viaarena.com and i cant find my chip in any of the lists in the 'drivers' section?? hmmm

It says on my chip "VIA vt-6307"

when i upgraded my firmware i turned on my xbox first then my computer... have you hex edited mtk flash thats another option.... good luck

No i havnt touched the MTKFlash i dloaded yet, still not sure if my chipset is compatable.

Does it NEED to be edited to work??
