I tried this is dvd santa and i get a error trace message with this, KEY, ASC,ASCQ,ASCLEN+4,8,3,e". What is that. My dvd burner is set to master. Using windows xp home edition. I also tried Nero and i get a error message also. Here is the message,

OK try this, you have an older version of Nero there...

Save your serial and then update

http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Ner....0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

You're burning too fast, burn at 4x.

Make sure you use top noth media such as Verbatim, Tayio Yuden or Sony (MIJ - made in japan).

Make sure you have the latest firmware for your drive, which is BSRB, found here...

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2053

Thats isn't directly related but could help anyway.

**Also edit out your serial number(s) from the top of post please, so no one pirates them.**

Let me know, thanks very much appreciate it.

OK I GOT THE UPDATE DONE, NOW WHEN I TRY TO RUN Nero IT SAYS WELCOME TO Nero, THEN IT SAYS TRIAL VERSION AND WILL EXPIRED ON 12/1/06. THEN SAYS ENTER NAME COMPANY AND SERIAL NUMBER WHICH IS ALREADY FILLED IN, BUT IN THE SERIAL NUMBER SECTION DEMO IS THERE, I TRIED TO PUT IN MY SERIAL NUMBER BUT IT SAYS ITS ALREADY STORED ON MY SYSTEM AND THAT I CANNOT USE THE SAME SERIAL NUMBER TWICE, SO DO I LEAVE IT AT DEMO OR WHAT.

WELL I UPDATED MY DVD BURNER WITH FIRMWARE AND INSTALLED WINDOWS SERVICE PACK 2. I THEN TRIED TO BURN ANOTHER MOVIE BUT USED A DIFFERENT DVD THIS TIME AND IT WORKED. THE DVD I USED WAS SONY. THE OTHER DVDS I WAS USING WERE PHILLIPS. NOW I USED PHILLIPS BEFORE LIKE MAYBE 50 OF THEM AND HAD NO PROBLEMS BURNING WITH THEM UNTIL A FEW MONTHS AGO. AFTER I BURNED THE MOVIE WITH SONY DVD I FIGURED IT WAS FIXED. SO I TRIED TO BURN THE MOVIE AGAIN BUT WITH A PHILLIPS DVD AND SAME THING HAPPENS ERROR MESSAGE. SO SONY DVD WORKS BUT PHILLIPS DONT. THEY ARE BOTH 16 X DVDS. WHY WOULD ONE DVD WORK AND NOT THE OTHER, NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH PHILLIPS BEFORE AND ITS THE SAME PACKAGE THAT I WAS USING BEFORE. ANY IDEAS!!!

THANKS

IF you post one more message in all caps, you'll be banned, rest assured.

Anyway, phillips are crap dvds, that's why. As for your Nero problem. It wasn't rocket science. You uninstaleld first which was your mistake. not mine.

Happy burning...

well excuse me. You don't have to be so rude about it. I didn't know about the cap thing. And as far as uninstalling Nero whats the big deal, there is no big deal. I reinstalled it again and it works fine except for the phillips dvd's which i dont understand because i used these dvds for quite some time and i didnt have any problems at all.

Sorry for the caps i just figured it would be easler to see

Thanks Again

No, I can read just fine in lower case. I know there is no big deal, you seemed to be making one with all the caps etc.

Anyway, as I said Phillips aren't good DVDs; maybe the disk deteriated over time.
