Digital media is all new to me and I've seen on some websites people talking about being able to capture video when they watch music videos from the internet. Is this really possible, if it is can somebody suggest some sites where I can find more info on this.

if it shows on your computer screen you can capture it using SnagIt. The video captures is not of high quality but you can capture it!

if you are referring to capturing/downloading streaming audio and video, yes it is possible and very easy to do. I use Net Transport with great results.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
