Hey there. Ok I like to copy dvds, I like making exact copies with menus and all teh stuff that comes on them. I always ran it with DVD decryptor first and had the output file set as a .iso
Then I ran the ISO through DVD Shrink, and had DVD Shrink burn it, using neros settings or whatever.
This has worked on like 60 DVDS so far.
And now last night, I was able to rip any dvd I want, but when i run it through DVD Shrink now, as soon as its done encoding and getting ready to burn I get this error message. ( its doing this with any dvd i try by the way)

DVD-Video files reallocation failed
This usually happens when Nero believes it detected a file structure problem/error with the video files its trying to burn to disk.
There are several ways around this, but try this one first and see if it solves the problem (sticking with your method of using DVD Decrypter-DVDshrink-Nero):
1)rip the files to your hard drive using DVD Decrypter using File Mode, here's a guide if you need it;
http://www.dvdshrink.info/dvd-decrypter.php
2) Procees the files that you ripped to your hard drive thru a free application called FixVTS, you can get it here along with a simple guide on use;
http://download.videohelp.com/FixVTS/
FixVTS is used to adjust the DVD files into better DVD compliance so Nero should be happy.
3) Open the files using DVD Shrink and proceed as you normally would. I know you like using Nero, but I would suggest you have shrink create an ISO image, then use DVD Decrypter to burn the image to disk (see pic).

i closed your other (multi)post.
the error you are getting is due to you doing something wrong in DVD Shrink ie you're doing something wrong in the ripping stage, not the burning stage

it's something you're doing (or not doing) in DVD Shrink (or maybe you're missing some files from Decrypter (but then again surely DVD Shrink would be moaning, so it must be in Shrink), try to explain exactly what you do....

Exactly what I Do.
Use DVD Decrypter to rip dvd to .iso file
Then i open the .iso in DVD Shrink and click back up
in the box that says select back up targer, i select my dvd burner drive
and have the temporary files go to a folder on my desk top
then i click ok, and it starts encoding
when it finishes encoding, it gets ready to write the dvd to a DVD-R
and then i get the file allocation error

a-ha, as i suspected - you're not using DVD Decrypter and/or DVD Shrink properly. You're only using Shrink to burn, not to reauthor or whatever, then burn, hence the files aren't compliant

the only thing i used shrink for was to shrink the iso so it would fit on a 4.7gb DVD-R and to actually burn it, even though it burns through shrink, it uses Nero. its worked on about 60 dvds in teh past, and the other day it just stopped working out of no where.
So then waht do i do now

According to experiences with DVD Decrypter, when ripping using MODE, ISO, it takes whatever (all the junks) with the movie. So when you're trying to "open or transcode" via DVD Shrink it's more likely that DVD Shrink is going to throw up because of some corrupted/fake VTS (Cells) are still inside the movie (ISO).
My advise is to use MODE, File F next time when ripping with DVD Decrypter. At least this way you can always edit or you can simply run your VIDEO_TS file through FixVTS or VobBlanker to correct useless VTS, Cells, etc.
**NOTE: all FREE tools are include inside guides. Give these 2 guides below a shot?
Here's an all FREE guide, DVDFAB+VobBlanker+ DVD Shrink+ImgBurn - just skip step #2 (VobBlanker), unless your an advanced user and know where/what to blank out (i.e. FBI Warnings, Trailers/Advertise, Extras, etc.)
My buddy Arnie's RipIt4Me guide

@creaky
Cheers bud. Yep, me too, I don't use Mode, ISO. However, when I used it, it's mainly for ripping games, especially for PS2 games only. Otherwise, Mode, File F is the best to go.

Sounds like some corrupted VOB files to me and or it's been misplaced. Plus you'll need to get rid of Roxio, get "Roxio Zapper" to completely clean out from your system. However, the choice is yours.

@Hellraz0r,
Quote: Cant someone tell me how to fix the problem instead of alternative methods to burning. it was so much easier the way i was doing it
-Let me start by saying that just as one size doesn't really fit all, the same can be said about any one given method. Shrink and Decrypter are no longer updated, this means that they will not always work (especially with newer movie releases), they're giong to need a little help from time to time, so at some point you're going to have to use other software programs in conjunction with shrink and/or Decrypter to get the job done.
-You state that the movies "are sort of old" which could suggest that there may be a physical issue with the DVD disks(scratched..etc.) making them hard to read. Decrypter could of detected many of these unreadable sectors and skipped them during the ripping process causing a non-compliance issue/condition that Nero dectected. If you tried ripping in FILE MODE with decrypter and then using FixVTS as I suggested above, the issue could of been resolved.
-If the movies are old, then there should be nothing special about the copy protection on then (plain old CSS). You could try to use shrink only for the ripping/transcoding/and autoburning process with Nero. If Nero still is producing that error, then have shrink output the files to your hard drive (choose hard disk folder see pic) then process them thru FixVTS, when it's done, open the files with shrink and do your thing.

-Last
Quote: I did use AnyDVD with decryptor
If your going to use AnyDVD with DVD Decrypter, some of Decrypter's settings should be changed so that they will work properly together. This is from slysoft's site reguarding AnyDVD and DVD decrypter:
- Note: To use DVDDecrypter with AnyDVD set I/O Model to SPTI or ElbyCDIO.
-Set CSS Cracking method to none. Disable checking for structure
protection.
