So Im finally going to flash the firmware on my 360. But before I do I have one question.

I have a samsung drive, not sure ms25 or 28, b/c I havent opened it up yet, just going by the pictures ive seen.

Ive read the guide provided by xbox-scene for the samsung drives and my question is in the part when you finally flash the firmware they say to do it with extreme 3.0. Should I do it like that and then upgrade to 4.2 or just do 4.2 from the beginning? And if so is the method different than just doing it the way it says in the guide?

You can just flash straight to the 4.2 and the process should be the same :-)

I flashed mine straight to 4.1a and it worked fine so i'm guessing you'll have no trouble going straihg to 4.2 :-)

Well that should make it easier then.

The only reason I asked was b/c I read somewhere that upgrading to 4.2, you had to put it in 0800 mode.

The second line says something about the samsung drives and 0800 mode. Im thinking its only for upgrading it, and not for the initial flash, but I just want to make sure
