Alight,I have my .iso of GH2 and every time I burn it then play it the loading takes forever and the songs skip and are out of sync with the notes. I've tried burning at 3 different speeds (4x,6x,8x) and they all have the same problem(although it doesn't seem as bad at 8x). The size of the .iso is 4.32 GB.

try rebuilding the iso. seems like its that sort of size where you need to do it. have had trouble like yours and a rebuild has usually helped.

I tried it with Verbatim DVD+R 16X and it had the problem. But then I went out and bought some Verbatim DVD+R 8X and it works perfectly!

I'm having the same problems too. I'm using a v7 PS2 with SM 2.0, Zone Loader, CD Loader, etc. Rarely if ever, do I run into a problem game. I've tried SM with Zone Loader and the game will boot, but loading times are excruciating, or the game will freeze altogether. I've tried three different brands of media at various speeds (1x-4x) and still the same results. Also tried booting with a high TOC game and same thing. Any help or info is appreciated.

Im having the not starting problem. Ive tried multiple isos, and with the same result each time. Except the first time I burned it, the game ran, just with unbearable slow loading times, and unplayble skippiness in the songs. Now, I boot up swap magic, stick the disc in, hit the button, and the screen goes black and stays that way. the disc spins for a bit, then doesnt seem to do anything.

I just tried burning it at 6x, same problem, black screen.
This is the only time this has happenned with a game. Could it be that the isos Ive tried have been corrupt or something?

I was gonna tell you not to waste a DVD on that 6x thing, it doesn't work (I tried). I have the exact same problem. Maybe the file is corrupt, but I have 2 ISOs and both don't work.

Well, Im just about outta DVDs on this spindle. I will probly go to the store tomarrow and see if I can find some Verbatims to try out. Ive been using TY -R 16x. Ive successfully burned 5 other games offa this spindle, but this one just doesnt seem to work. It could also be that theres some failt with my burner. Havent tried burning anything else since GH2, so I will try something new and see what happens.

try booting with a really big ps2 dvd original. i was using Final fantasy X as the middle disk in cogswap and it didn't even load. i used GTA: Vice City and it runs AWESOME! i used fujifilm 8x -r burnt at 4x with DVD Decrypter.

i had a laggy problem with bully and i booted with gta: vice city and it runs great too!

Sorry, Im not familiar with cogswap. I use Swap Magic 3, so I dont see how I would go about doing what you suggest. Except maybe boot a big ps2 game, then put in SM and reset or something. Though why would that make any difference?

i don't know about swap magic but i know the TOC of the disk is huge. that means youll need to get the ps2 to know that theres a big TOC game being loaded, at least thats my understanding. the way the cogswap prog works is it loads, you put in a ps2 game using the eject button, then it loads that into the ps2 system, tells you to swap, and you do either the cogswap or the fliptop swap. i was black screening for a while using Final fantasy X to set the TOC size. but it worked great with GTA: Vice City.

i think if you put myPS2 on a cd(toss a cogswap.elf somewhere on there), boot it with swap magic, then go to the file browser in myPS2(i think you can launch elf files from there), launch cogswap.elf from wherever you put it on the cd. look up how to boot ps2 dvds from cogswap.

hope this helps

Man, thats alot of stuff. Ive never even heard of myPS2 either. Sounds interesting though, so I will see what I can do.
I tried getting different DVDs, but my local Fry's had a crappy selection consisting of Memorex, Fujifilm, and HP. I got some HP 16x -R, since I havent tried that brand yet, and while I was able to burn games with it, I still had the black screen with GH2.

lol yeah it was quite a bit...
i would stop wasting money on a gaggilllion types of media, i did the same thing and it ended up being nowhere close to the problem.

1.Eject the CD tray and insert the Swap Magic CD Disc.
2.Reset your PS2 and wait till Swap Magic loads Up
3.When you see the Swap Magic Screen that saids "Load Game" along with the video settings(PAL or NTSC) eject the PS2 cd tray and take out the Swap Magic CD and and the screen will now say Refresh TOC
4.Now insert a PS2 DVD Original Game(Silver Bottom) With a High TOC(check your ps2 games on the computer and see which is the biggest game you have in size)
4.after it goes back to the Swap Magic Screen Open the PS2 Flip Top Cover and insert the DVD Backup, After This The screen should turn red and the game will start.

i just took that from a post by Eric04h. do that with GTA Vice City as the original if you have it. or GTA3. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/182717 check there for the list of games, bigger TOC = better. i saw swap magic above vice city but vice city played bully MUCH better, i could have just done something weird tho... g/l

I tried doing it and the PS2 goes to that memcard browser screen, then goes to a screen saying Not a Valid PS2 Disc.

i don't have to much experience with swap magic but from what i gather...

boot from swap magic. wait for swap magic menu to show up
EJECT the swap magic
put an ORIGINAL ps2 dvd with LARGE TOC in and use the eject button to get it in the drive.
wait for it to stop spinning.
do whatever swap method you use to get the GH2 dvd in.
press x to load it!'

there is NO reason to restart the machine once swap magic is loaded.

hope this works... it should according to swap magic site

Well, I tried it again, and, using the guitar controller and not the PS2 controller, hit the orange fret instead of the blue, and that got it to try and load the game, though I still had the black screen problem. Although the largest PS2 DVD I have is the Megaman Anniversary Collection, which is only around 3 gigs.
