cosmonkey, i was using FFX which is ~4.2 gigs and i was getting a black screen. i tried it with GTA which is only a bit bigger and it worked great so you should try and borrow a GTA or something else big to see if it will work.
Jimmons, i'm using a fat but i don't think it matters...
InMeKrist, i don't have a clue then. you sure ur burn method is good?

I burnt GH2 to a 16X Verbatim DVD+R at 8X speed and it didn't work.So I tried the TOC thing with Vice City, and a red screen coming up said ''Please insert a PS2 disk''.How do I fix this? Please note I have a PAL PS2, and PAL Swap Magic disks but am using a NTSC version of Guitar Hero 2.Could that affect it?

But Swap Magic already gives me the option to boot a game in PAL or NTSC.Will this Y fix thing do something different?

OK then.So what exactly do you think I should do?Use the convertor to change the NTSC GH2.iso file into a PAL GH2.iso file and then load it using the PAL option in Swap Magic 3.6?Or are you suggesting something different?

sorrows, i had problems burning it on a +R, try and find someone with a -R burner. i made a bunch of coasters with +R. also i made coasters with -R verbatims. i couldn't get 2 different ps2s to read them. the coasters gave me the same error... "please insert ps2 disk". your swap magic should convert the video type fine. if it doesn't convert properly it will still load but it will be all squirrly. you'll atleast know that the disk was burnt right.

I finally got it working:
Total Steps
I have the full iso, i rebuilt it, burned it onto 16x DVD-R Verbatims at 12x, and cleaned out my ps2 with some compressed air. So far, so good.

Yep.Yeah it basically takes up a quarter of the screen, however i'm not too bothered as it doesn't affect the game at all.

Dunno about the PAL/NTSC issue, but I was successfully able to boot after repacking with gnie's tool to 3.73 gigs and burning onto a tyg02 @ 6X. However, the game freezes and gets out of sync on almost every song at every difficulty, making it unplayable.
Might be ready to give up on this one.

Quick question...instead of a lot of trial & error should i just take the ISO that I dled and use Extreme to convert to NTSC and shrink the ISO with Extreme..I burned the ISO directely from the I think the Element ISO and it didn't work. I burned it at 4x with DVD Decrypter
This is what I'm using:
PS2 FlipTop modification
Swap Magic 2.0 DVD
Thank you for any information!

Hello Neptune,
I'm using Memorex & Fuji DVDs..the first copy I burnt at 4x & 2nd at 6x. The star streaks Im speaking of are from Swap Magic v2.0..I dont have 3.X Swap Magic...I dont have a selection for PAL or NTSC on SM 2.0..I followed the directions that you had on the last post..when I patched it with EXPert I dont think I did "Make PN Sector." I put in Guitar Hero 2 then it just had a black screen for 15 mins and tunred it off..
This is what I did:
1) Gnie rebuild tool/guide
Step 1. select the iso.
Step 2. click Extract LBA (auto sort lba)
Step 3. click Extract File
Step 4. click Rebuild File
Step 5. click Rebuild LBA
Then with
2) PAL to NTSC with y fix
I converted PAL to NTSC and 4 files were converted
Last
3) img burn
Burnt at 6x with this program
Any ideas of what I did wrong? GNIE shrunk to game from about 4.3GB to 3.73GB.
Thank you for any advice!
