I already have my 360 modded... I already have like every game there is for the 360 burned on DL disks, I know how to use SS merger, and I understand all the basics of burning for the 360. What I dont understand is how to burn original xbox games to work for the 360. I got Star Wars KOTOR off usenet and tried burning it but ended up with a 921.0 1884.0 erorr. I tried searching that error on here and basically just saw a bunch of people not giving relevant answers. Ive searched google endlessly for ss.bin files that pertain to the .iso files that I am downloading but have turned up nothing. What am I doing wrong and why cant I correctly burn these games?
You're not going to be able to use dl'ed xbox 1 games unless they were specifically ripped for the 360. I've only seen a couple. And those still need to be burnt onto a +r dl. As for the ss, check out www.frogstick.com . You'll have to register but they have some there for the xbox 1 games.
I cant imagine why you'd need to use a DL disc or specifically burn the games for the 360 when the original games were not intended for the 360 but they still play... 360 updates keep coming out to support more and more games and they support games that were created years ago. So why would you need it burned on a DL disc when DL discs werent even prevalent yet.
You have to have an original xbox1 game that was ripped in the 360 style. Since it was ripped like a 360 game, it must be patched with the ss.bin file and burned to a DVD+R DL just like any other 360 game. If you want to backup XBOX1 games for the 360, they ALL have to be original games ripped to DVD+R DL.

Alright... so does that mean that whatever .iso's I get off usenet are intended for people to burn for their original xbox's and not for the 360? Theres no way to download those games off usenet and configure them for 360 use?
I've seen a few xbox 1 games which were ripped for the 360 on the newsgroups. It said right in the header it was for the 360.
Other than those, you'll need to backup the original only. A little more explaination for ya... the 360's drive firmware needs to read the security sector and layer break off the disc in order to play. The games available to download don't have that information because it wasn't needed for the xbox 1. And of course when you do get a useable iso it'll need to be burnt to a +r dl because regular dvd's, being only 1 layer, won't work with the layer break.
See, what im struggling to understand is. If the original xbox games work in the 360. Like if I go out and buy Star Wars KOTOR, it will play no problems in my 360. So since the discs are on regular DVD's, and burnable dvd's are cheap as hell. Why wouldnt people be just making raw .iso copies of the whole dvd and putting em up. And if you had a raw .iso copy of a regular xbox game, wouldnt that include the security sector and all that? If the retail xbox games are on regular dvd's and the 360 can read em, why do you need all the special mumbo jumbo to make it work when its being burned after the fact?
I know I sound like a broken record im just trying to understand why xbox games can work in the 360 when theyre retail but when burned they have to have layer break, ss, and be on a DL disc.
