Ok, So if read 'till my eyes bleed but still need help. I'm new to all of this (1week). I have been able download some AVI files from the net and have converted them to play on my Ipod and Itunes. I have also Converted AVI files to DVD format using avi2dvd. What is the best way to Convert AVI to DVD? and then Burn to a DVD-9. I've used avi2dvd but it takes forever. Is there a program that anyone can recomend as the best. Also, what tools should I have to be able to download video files(any format) convert and Burn to DVD. Thanks in advance for you help.
I have been very pleased with VSO ConvertXTODvd. There are a few members that have used this as well and have had great success with it. You can download a trial version of it at the link below. The trial version will leave a watermarl on the output DVD but at least you can see how quick and the quality conversions you will get.
Depends on your machine; on mine (AMD 3500), a video of about 2 hours takes about 1 hour to encode on high quality mode. An AMD 2500 was fast, I don't remember how much time it took but there was'nt much difference. Then it burns, too. Try it, you'll be very happy with it. And, here's a guide although you probably won't need it: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/...todvd_guide.cfm
I just tried the trial version and it works great. Converted and burned in about 1 hour.
I have one more question, The file that I was converting came in two parts. I used winace to open them. How would go about converting and burning them both to the same DVD.
Just add both parts to ConvertXtoDVD. They will both be burned to one DVD as selections in the menu. File joining is not yet supported although I'm sure future versions will incorporate that.
