Hi, I bought my 360 of ebay. It has a Samsung Drive (not sure what type), and Flahsed (not sure which version either).

I have read that trying to update a Samsung may result in the E66 code. However, I've also heard the Microsft have also fixed the issue causing the E66 error.

Is it now safe for me to Update on Live?
I'm sure that the flash was less than 4, as I got it a few months ago.

Credit to all the guys/gals on Afterdawn for a superb forum.

If the drive is a ms25 then go ahead. If it's a ms28 then the firmware needs to be xtreme 4.0 or up. Your best bet is to email the seller and ask which firmware he used and what drive is in it. If he can't tell you then you need to open the 360 and look on top of the dvd drive. It'll either have ms25 or ms28. If it's 28 then hope he used 4.0 or higher. There's no way for you to tell which version firmware is in it.

I can confirm this works 100% on ms25. I just did it no problems. I am using firmware 3.3 extreme. bhetrick, you know what your talking about. Thanks dude.
