I've got some DivX movies on my laptop that I'd like to show on my big screen. I can play the movie on the laptop using windows player or DivX player.

When I hook up the laptop to the TV using s-video I can see the desktop and the windows player or DivX screen but no picture that is playing.

Any ideas on how to get the movie on the TV?

The software for your video card should have a setting to swap the display mapping, because of the way windows xp handles video it will show a black screen on your secondary display but not on your primary, try to find a setting like this and apply it, that should fix your problem.

I believe he meant the laptop screen.

If you're using a laptop with Nvidia graphix...when you go to set your dual display up, you should have a choice for the second output to be "TV". It's a pull down menu in the nView Display Settings section.

What laptop are you using BigMike2, cuz when I right click on the desktop I get the option to change the graphic properties, this way I choose what is the main screen and what isn't, and yes, I did mean to close the screen of the laptop, I couldn't figure out how to get it on and when I closed the screen it showed up on the t.v., also your not going to get sound from just the s-video cable.

21q, I've got a Dell C640 with a Mobility Raedon 7500 video card. I've found the settings and will play with those. Thanks people for the tips.
