I use Clone DVD2 w/ Any DVD. Been working fine for a long time.
Last night I went to backup Monster House and it freezes right at the beginning.
Only thing I can figure is some sort of new copy protection.
Any1 heard anything?

Try using ripit4me, and also download the fixvts (I think that what its called)you will find it on the same site. open up the ripit4 me and use the 1 click option, it make take a while (do it just before you go to bed) in the morning you will have your ISO of the movie. if its over 2hrs use DVDSHRINK to compress it IF not use DVDDECRYPTER to burn it.
hope this helps.

Well in a year's time they may not play in any of your players. You might as well put stickers on them too.

@ SDempsey,

What garmoon meant is Memorex, if coded CMC Mags, are the worst disks u can use, and pretty much wont last as long as top notch media, like TYs and Verbatims, Just go read some Post Ur Bad media experience and u will see most of them are MID: CMC Mag.
also check out the scans of these low quality disks
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544
Just look at the quality score on the scans

I was unclear:
It freezes right at the beginning of the backup process.
I insert the movie, open Clone DVD (AnyDVD already running)and the Clone DVD preview (along with the whole program) freezes right at the Columbia logo. Repeatedly. I have done around 100 movies. Never had this happen before now.

@SDempsey

300bowler was correct. I meant if you're gonna use $hitty media, then stick a label on the DVD and make it really $hitty media.

@NightSurf
I believe your problem is NOT media. Do you have DVD Shrink. Try opening the movie with Shrink and AnyDVD. I don't use cloneDVD2.Is the disc clean?

get Shrink here free: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/

Just stick to using Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.
