uhmmmmmm...........hey guys. here's my question. When i'm done burning my dvd and put it in my dvd player, my player won't read.
"no disk read" is what it says. Here's the thing... when i first started learning to burn it used to work fine (just like renting a dvd video at the store) but now everytime a put it in the dvd player it doesn't work. I use Nero to burn and encode and have a JVC DVD player. One more thing..........sometimes it'll work in my ps2 and sometimes it won't.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!! If someone has an answer or two that i could try that would be absolutely appreciated.

What media are you using? Have you changed the media lately? Even if you have not changed the Media it doesn't mean that a different manufacture is making the media.

Try using different media like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden. (Or use media that your DVD burner recommends you use due to compatibility)

Make sure your DVD burners firmware is up to date.

Burn the media at 4X or half the rated speed of the media. If it is 4x or 8x burn at 4x if it is 16x burn at 8x.

Make sure your standalone DVD player is compatible to what ever format your media is -R/+R

Do not multi-task during burn or encoding of the DVD.

doing a few steps like this will help you get a better backup.

Below is a way to find out what your Manufacture ID number is of the media you are using. You can do this by using Nero Info Tool. Once you find the Manufactures ID number check it with the guide below and see what class media it falls into. They recommend that for Video backup you use Class1 media.

To get to the Nero Info Tool do the folowing...
START/ALL PROGRAMS/NERO/TOOLS INFO TOOL should be in that list.

Below is the media guide that list the Class of media you are using.

Compatability issue.

What's the brand name and model # of your DVD-RW drive?

For those no disc errors, booktyping would definitely help you-if your burner has that capability. Post back the answer and we'll let you know.

No disc errors-players can give this error for any of the following:

1) Poor quality media
2) Certain MID coded media
3) Certain format,even both formats-

Make sure the DVD-RW drive plays it's own backups, and should look near original in quality.
