Please do not flame me for asking this question. Even though I have googled the SHIT out of it.

Is there any way to boot a ps1 backup via HDL 0.8b or exploit on chubby ps2? Elf file? Anything?

Friends broke PS2 with Network Adapter - $0
MC jacked from Flockfluster - $0
ARMAX jacked from Damestop - $0
200GB HD on eGay - $40
HDL v0.8b via exploted MC - Priceless!

If you have a flip top case mod you can swap any retail PS1 with a backup when it's booting up. It's a little tricky and a pretty ghetto method with risk of damaging your console, but it works. I've successfully done it serveral times. I scatched a retail disc pretty good the 1st time I tried it, but I have it down now.

I have a ps2 fat on life support that loads hdl 0.8b off of a psx trigger disk. Opening and swapping is NOT IN THE CARDS.

Any help? Elf file that loads psx iso's?

http://sksapps.info/forums/viewtopic.php?t=143 (confirmed to work on V7/V9/V10)

Essentially involves using uLaunchELF, turning disc control to ON, going to MISC/PS2Browser, and using flip-top or swap tool to swap the backup in. If your PS2 still reads PSX discs then it should be fine. AFAIK there is no way to load PSX ISOs off a HD.
