Excuse me for being a bit thick, but I saw a copy of Terminator 2 available today at a special price. This was a special 2 disc edition but when I examined it, it clearly said , each disc DVD9 SINGLE layer.
Would this in any way affect the decrypting or the back-up in shrink?
I did actually get Close Encounters of the 3rd kind which clearly states DVD9 dual layer - which is processing in my other PC.
I think that must be a typo or something, cuz im pretty sure there isn't a single layer disk that can hold 8-9Gigs(I could be wrong though), but to answer ur question it shouldn't affect DVD Shrink, by the way that will be a heavy compression too, the movie is like 2 & 1/2 hours long or close too that.
Yea, that is probably a typo, but sorry 300bowler, the movie does look good even after I compressed it that much. Just make sure to decrease the video quality of the extras and the menu, if you don't 300bowler was right, and you will get a bad picture.
So if I did get it and stripped out extras on main movie disk for back-up and then copied the second disc which probably has the extras, then I should be ok. Do you agree?
2nd edit Quote 300bowler I think that must be a typo or something, cuz im pretty sure there isn't a single layer disk that can hold 8-9Gigs(I could be wrong though),

It did clearly say :- "This is a DVD9 Single layer Disc"
I think I gotta go get it and try it, I can always take it back and say that it's faulty.
What a ridiculous conversation this is about T2 but you know what, I thoroughly enjoyed this film and still have it on VHS but I want it now on DVD with extras.
I'm going back to get it today, I'll let you know how I get on.

Edit again:- Well I don't know how to show a picture in here. It was only for information purposes.
The fact of the matter is, that I have made a successful back-up of both discs, the special edition directors cut of Terminator 2 and I am extremely pleased with myself.
Disc one was 7.85g which compressed to 56.4% It has 81 chapters and runs flawlessly for 147mins.
Disc two was 7.22g which compressed to 58.3% and has 98 Titles. Over 6 hours of content and 40 special features.
I am especially pleased as I got this for £2.55 which is approx $4.87 plus the cost of my two blank discs of course.
I haven't played them both all the way through yet, but the reproduction looks flawless. Much, much better looking than the VHS.
If anybody has the time, perhaps they could show me how to paste an image. What I did was scanned the cover, dropped it into paint, then selected that and dropped it into Word, resized it, but can't copy it to here. Not as bright as I thought I was. There you go!
